Make Those Lips Red

Making thin lips look fuller is one of the easiest Photoshop problems to solve. Red lips is not for those who want to blend into the crowd, so be ready to get noticed. Want your photographs to be noticed, then try this for a stunning effect.
First take the pen tool and select the lips. Once you have the lips selected to your satisfaction you need to select the path panel. From layers palette select the Path panel and click on the Load path as selection icon. Next choose Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance. Then, press ok, and in Color Balance Panel set the options as following: Red +45 Green +90 Blue -15. Make sure your Tonal Balance is set to Shadows also.
There you have it. Nice beautiful red lips. You'll really get noticed now.

David, I really want to try these excercises but they're vague to me.

same for me VAGUE.....exact same place....palette layer, select path?? where do I go for them....? That's why I persist on my own....If I buy a product to teach me do I understand how they write it.
I agree with papamoe. The terminology is what makes photoshop so difficult to work with. Nothing is better than the KISS principal, and while we are at it, let's call it Keep It Simple, Silly...much nicer.
Papmoe.. you must be a newbie to photoshop. You need to look in your "Layers Palette". If it is not open, you can open it by going Windows>Layers
You will see the layers palette pop up..(which is usually situated bottom right!) in the layers palette are three submenus, being, Layers, Channels, and Paths. Perhaps that helps a bit!
I agree with jerry. I overlook tutorials like this because of the same issue. It leaves you wonder what the heck you are suppose to be clicking on.
I like the tutorial, but i find it easier to make a selection with the magnectic tool, then go up to -image- adjustments - hue and saturate and play with the levels until you get the color you want.
